The botanical garden in Akureyri is very beautiful, but it is not the northernmost in Europe. This one is actually located in Tromsø (Norway), north of the Arctic Circle.

The parade garden founded in 1912 by a Danish woman (Mrs. Schiöth) is the highlight of Akureyri. The garden, which also serves as a public park, is free of charge and in very good condition. Flower lovers cannot fail to be amazed. There is a new surprise around every corner. It is not only worked with nuances in the play of colors, but the plants are also staged individually. I was really enthusiastic about the large number of gentian varieties. 🥰

The northernmost botanical garden in Europe and incredibly beautiful. It's crazy what's growing there. Admission is free.
