Giuseppe Giulietti (May 21, 1879 – June 20, 1953). The multifaceted personality of the union leader, better known as Captain Giulietti, is honored in our city by the monument dedicated to him in the city park on Via Destra del Porto in Rimini. The work by Gaetano Scapecchi was inaugurated on February 4, 1962, and among the speakers was the then-mayor, Walter Ceccaroni. The panel discussion entitled "Giuseppe Giulietti – The Seamen's Union, Yesterday and Today," held on June 20, included Gianluca Calbucci, a researcher at ISREC Rimini, who presented the union leader's biography. Andrea Montemaggi, historian and co-director of Ariminum, also participated. Enrico Poggi of FILT CGIL Genoa spoke about Giulietti's lifelong connection to the "Superba," and Isabella Pavolucci, General Secretary of the Rimini Chamber of Trade Unions, was also present.
