In autumn, the lake is largely dry and you can walk "in it."

The small, charming Allmen cable car takes hikers from Kandersteg to lofty heights – completely away from mass tourism. The ride in the historic cabin feels almost like a journey back in time: a gentle whirring sound glides over alpine meadows, rocks, and fir trees, while the valley quickly opens up beneath you. Once at the top, a quiet starting point awaits for scenic mountain hikes away from the main cable cars.

Hello my lovelies This wonderful mountain hike starts directly in Kandersteg at the valley station of the cable car (fee applies). We paid CHF 22.00 for 6 hours. From there, we hiked uphill towards Lake Oeschinen. The ascent leads through a picturesque mountain landscape, past lush green meadows, shady forests, and the typical bright rock formations of alpine limestone and sandstone, which shine particularly beautifully in the sun here. Arriving at Lake Oeschinen, we were rewarded with a stunning view of the shimmering turquoise water and the majestic peaks of the Bernese Alps. After a short break, we continued our hike past Unterbärgli and further up to Oberbärgli, where we enjoyed magnificent views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. The trail then led us via Abeweid and Heuberg, where we enjoyed the impressive views before finally reaching Schatthus. The entire tour offered a varied mix of lake, mountain, and alpine meadow panoramas, providing an unforgettable experience amidst the impressive mountain scenery. Important: Hiking poles are advantageous for this tour, especially on the steeper sections. Some sections are classified as T3, so good fitness and surefootedness are required. A head for heights and alpine experience are also beneficial to enjoy the tour safely. Here's the video: relive.com/de/view/vPv4ZkY25R6 Highlight: - Very beautiful mountain hike - Pure nature - Fantastic view of the Alps - Oeschinensee is simply stunning - Impressive waterfalls Lowlight: - Very crowded on weekends - Parking is relatively expensive Equipment: Standard mountain gear FYI: Moderately difficult mountain hike Difficulty level: T2 (mountain hiking)
