It dates from the 3rd quarter of the nineteenth century, the time of the reign of Napoleon III. It is located on the highest point of the island of La Pietra, connected by a link to L'Ile-Rousse. It signals the entrance to the north-west coast of Corsica. The so-called "Pietra" lighthouse is part of the second wave of installations that have disappeared in Corsica, along with that of Ajaccio in particular. The current lighthouse is a square tower with a square base in the center, made of smooth masonry, painted white, with a lantern painted green.
