The images of Saint Elizabeth and Saint Boniface at the church entrance are created using a particularly rare painting technique. This is the sgraffito technique, borrowed from the Italian Renaissance. In this technique, various layers of paint are applied one upon the other and then scratched out again. Upon entering the church, one finds oneself in a simple yet spacious space, flooded with warm light on sunny days.

The collegiate church of St. Cyriakus in Gernrode (Harz district, Saxony-Anhalt) is one of the most important Ottonian architectural monuments in Germany. The church, which was first mentioned in 961, is now largely in its 10th century condition thanks to restorations in the 19th century; only the western apse was added around 1130. The church was the collegiate church of the Gernrode women's monastery founded by Margrave Gero, which was headed by abbesses from the region's noble families until it was dissolved in 1616. The church became Protestant in 1521, when Abbess Elisabeth von Weida joined the Reformation and her monastery was secularized, making it one of the first Protestant churches in the world. Since the restoration, the Protestant parish of Gernrode has used it as a parish church. Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stiftskirche_St._Cyriakus_(Gernrode)

Relatively straight connection over the L230. Asphalt has been properly patched in many places. Looks good but the amount of patches makes it annoying. Driving on the side of the road helped me :-D.

Quiet connecting road between the towns of Ulzigerode and Wieserode. Here you pass the district border. Asphalt is good so far, rolls accordingly.
