The Lucien-Beaufrère Square, a garden in the Art Deco style. This garden, located behind the Vierzon town hall, is the work of Eugène-Henry Karcher, a sculptor and architect from Angers. He won the contract following a competition launched by the city of Vierzon in 1927. Ideally situated between the Berry Canal and the Yèvre river, this garden serves as a place for official commemorations. At its center is a pacifist war memorial. This garden is an essential part of Vierzon's heritage. It is also often called the Abbey Garden, as it is located on the former site of the Abbey of Saint-Pierre in Vierzon. The square includes the following elements: – a war memorial, adorned with sculptures, reliefs, and topiary. The symbolism of the sculptures recalls the devastation caused by war, but also celebrates life and peace. The memorial side is engraved with the names of the soldiers from Vierzon-Ville who fell in the First World War. A 25-meter long basin serves as a mirror for the war memorial and is adorned at its ends with two fountains and wrought-iron railings with dove and olive branch motifs. A semicircular ensemble of benches and pilasters with lanterns completes the composition. A music pavilion with a washhouse in the basement is also part of it. This unique ensemble, inaugurated in April 1935, includes a domed stage, an orchestra pit, and a communal washhouse modern for its time. Above, an antique-style theatre mask and a lyre symbolize the artistic purpose of the place. Beautiful wrought-iron gates depicting dancers or washerwomen lead to the artists' dressing rooms and the communal washhouse. – A romantic garden, a true green oasis ideally located between the Yèvre and the Berry Canal.

One of the 96 locks of the Berry canal, now downgraded. 2.70m wide, these locks could accommodate so-called "small berrichons" boats 27.50 m long by 2.60 m wide maximum. The shovel at the Vèves lock was replaced in 2020 to better regulate the water flow.
