The choir with the apse and the adjacent right bay date from the 12th century. The thick walls support the bell tower. During his visit in 1551, Jean de Vallier indicated that the church was being restored. The reconstruction of the nave and the vault of the side chapels, the western portal in Renaissance style and the stair tower probably date from this work campaign. The pastor asks "to continue as soon as possible the building and work they have begun in the said church." The church was destroyed in 1569 during the Wars of Religion. It is said that the church was in poor condition during the visit of Nicolas de Villars in 1594. The date 1601 and the inscription REIASE are engraved on the triumphal arch, which could indicate repairs. In 1837-1838 a new sacristy was built on the south side. Lightning partially destroyed the bell tower in 1841. The upper part was rebuilt between 1845 and 1847 according to the plans of the architect Gustave Bourrières
