The Saint-Paul church is part of the Saint-Paul Center, which is an ecumenical center that hosts the services of the Anglican Church, the Baptist Protestant Church and the United Protestant Church. The construction of the Saint Paul Center began in 1978 and was completed in 1984. On April 16, 1984, the three bells (Isabelle, Claire, Marie-Emmanuelle) were blessed, while on April 19, Mayor Robert TRIMBACH handed over the keys to the church to Monsignor HERBULOT, Bishop of Corbeil. The Center also hosts Anglican and Baptist services. The Center was built by Mr. CORNET-VERNET, who was able to integrate the location of the church in the center of the village and the desire to make this place a poly-cultual and ecumenical building. He was also inspired by the traditional churches of Hurepoix, with their tall spires. The architect explains the guidelines: "This center designed as a house, "the house of God", but also the home of the community of believers of this Hurepoix clearing, has for me the shape of an abbey, with its church, of course, its cloister, its school of faith open to all ages and all horizons, to be a place of prayer and worship, a reception point, a teaching center, a space for celebration and praise. It also wants to be a sign in the city, by its location at the very heart of the community facing the main square of the city, by its spire, a new landmark on this site of the plateau, by its intimate integration into the neighborhood that surrounds it. The communal forest of Gif-sur-Yvette offers a beautiful setting for running. On wide rolling paths, you are protected from the sun in summer and from the wind in winter. On the edge, you can get pretty views of the Chevreuse valley. Without forgetting other attractions such as small bodies of water or the large laricio pine native to Corsica at a crossroads.
