Trentemoult, once a fishing village with very colorful houses, is a former island territory bordered by the Loire, facing the vestiges of the port of Nantes. As early as the 14th century, the village was recognized for having a monopoly on fishing in the Lower Loire. Then, in the 19th century, the Trentemousin sailors abandoned fishing in favor of maritime trade. Today, artists and artisans have replaced the fishermen, cafes and small restaurants have taken their place on the port, now dedicated to pleasure boating.

Bridge built in the 1870s to connect Nantes-Etat station (on the island of Nantes) to La Roche sur Yon via Ste Pazanne.

The bridge is very narrow – be careful of oncoming traffic!

A lovely viewpoint shared with the marsh on one side and Bourgneuf Bay on the other.

One of the central squares in Nantes. The fountain is worth seeing, as are the surrounding buildings, but somehow it doesn't really have any charm - the square is probably just a little too big and the surrounding houses a little too monotonous.
