This bridge was the only one to allow the crossing of the Arve until the construction of the Pont Neuf in 1850. The first Pont Vieux was built in Roman times and then rebuilt in the Middle Ages. Jacquicourt Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

The history of this chapel begins in 1313, when the three towns
des Gets, Taninges and Samoëns decided to fix the limits of
their territory. On the borders of the Loex plateau, the boundaries
are not accepted and a parcel called "le Sax de Jacquiert Curt"
is coveted by all 3 parties. Then begins a trial which
will last...366 years! In 1679 the judgment is rendered and sets the limits
communal in the middle of the famous plot. The town of Les Gets,
thinking he had won his case, decided to erect a chapel on the
part of the plot allocated to him. In June 1679, the works
begin, executed by a mason from Samoëns. On the night of 14 to 15
August of the same year, the chapel almost completed, was demolished by
protesters. We will never find the culprits. In the years
1960 ONF agents find the ruins. The mayors of Les Gets,
Taninges and Verchaix propose the reconstruction of the chapel and the
people are mobilizing to rebuild it. From 1986 to 1989, on the
foundations of 1679 is raised the current vault of Jacquicourt,
thus putting an end to 6 centuries of conflict.

Pointe des Brasses

Highlight • Summit

Pointe des Brasses is a summit of Haute-Savoie located in the Chablais massif, straddling the municipalities of Saint-Jeoire and Viuz-en-Sallaz, and culminating at 1,503 meters above sea level.
Les Brasses is a toponym from a mountain pasture located above Viuz-en-Sallaz2. It could derive from the German Brache, which designates fallow or fallow land2,3, or from the Old German braka meaning “clearing”3. It is possible that it also derives from the Latin bracchium3 (“arm”), referring to the arms of the river, three of which have their source in Brasses: the Menoge, the Entreverges and Airets streams.
In June 2013, a cross made by students from the Viuz-en-Sallaz Catholic Automobile School was erected on its summit. Six meters high, it is made up of 33 metal cubes measuring 30 centimeters on each side, assembled on site and arranged in a spiral by the students themselves. She was blessed on July 7, 2013 by Mgr Boivineau, Bishop of Annecy.

Les Carroz

Highlight • Settlement

Carroz means "crossroads", "crossroads" or "scree", "stony place" (of Celtic origin kaer), stone, rock (pre-Indo-European Mediterranean root: kal/kar)[ref. desired]. The inhabitants of the commune are given funny nicknames: “Catelus” for the inhabitants of Arâches, “Angorins” for those of Frasse.[ref. necessary]

Located at an altitude of 1,140 m, the resort defines itself as an “authentic village resort in the heart of the Alps”. It is located 55 km from Chamonix and 40 km from Geneva on a largely sunny plateau above the Arve valley, and is part of the Grand Massif (Flaine, Les Carroz d'Arâches, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt- Horseshoe). This area offers access to 265 km of slopes, with the summit of the ski area peaking at 2,500 m. 80 ski lifts serve 135 slopes (14 black, 50 red, 54 blue and 17 green).
