In the heart of Montagnette, the Saint Michel de Frigolet abbey is undoubtedly worth a detour and a visit. Best discovered on foot or by bike to enjoy the magnificent views from the surrounding slopes and paths.

Beautiful area! However, a fire in the summer of 2022 caused some very large forest damage.

An impressive abbey. In front there is a large free parking lot, with shade and monitored by video. The abbey has a kindergarten, monastery shop and offers overnight accommodation.

The Saint-Michel de Frigolet abbey is home to the canons of Prémontré. It takes its name from the word thyme, otherwise called “ferigoulo” in Provençal. Perched in the heart of the Montagnette, this massif typical of Provence, the abbey stands out among the pines, olive trees and cypresses. It was erected in the 12th century and then restored in the 19th century. The visit of the exteriors and the two churches is free every day. If you wish to visit the monastery, it is possible every Sunday at 3 p.m. (excluding holidays) for 7 € per person.
