Opened on November 29, 1840, at the time it was toll and the caretaker's house (Couzon side) existed until the development of the quay in 1961. It is a suspension bridge "wire ". It is five meters wide between the railings. It is composed of two spans each having 80 meters. The height of the deck is 9.90 m. There are 4 cables for each span, including two upstream and two downstream. Each of them was made up of 440 iron wires… The three piles, in masonry, support high freestone pillars which hold the ropes. Metal railings. The decking of the deck, which was made of wood, was replaced in 1983 by an aluminum profile decking covered with non-slip rubber-based tiles which had to be replaced a few years later by a more resistant coating.
