The Schlossberg in Rotenburg is a historically significant place. Although the original "Rode Burg" was demolished long ago, some remains are on display. The hedge planting indicates the former course of the fortress walls. The Schlossberg is part of the approximately 8 km long cultural trail and offers a beautiful area with apothecary garden and agricultural outbuildings. A visit to the Schlossberg can be easily combined with a hike or a tour of the surrounding area. There are also regular medieval events, where the "Fogelvreien" set up their tents and there is a colorful hustle and bustle with a market, military camp and evening spectacle.
