West of the village of Burtenbach and the small river Mindel, a few lakes can be found among the fields. These offer opportunities for swimming or nice picnic spots.

Günzburg's beautiful old town. There are also plenty of ice cream parlors, cafes, and restaurants. Unfortunately, at lunchtime, the only options were kebabs, pizza, or hamburgers. The restaurants serving Swabian or Bavarian cuisine were closed until 5:00 p.m. It's a shame I had expected more. On the way back to Kirchheim, we came across several beer gardens that were open.
