The first stone of the building was laid in 1634, on May 8, but the works were stopped in 1638. Then, in 1655, a fire destroyed part of the old temple of Pertegàs, of so that the population was left without a skillful church, so it was not possible to continue with the church that had begun. The factory was not completed until the early eighteenth century. The temple was inaugurated in 1703, the main portal and the sgraffito were completed in 1753 and 1762, respectively. [1] The sacristy, which is rectangular and has four sections of vault, was completed in 1683.

The church of Santa María de Palautordera is a magnificent example of late Gothic. A three-body bell tower stands out, the first of which is circular, like a military tower. There is news that in 862 there was a possibly Romanesque-style temple and that it was already in poor condition at the beginning of the 16th century. It was not until 1562, however, that the work on the current church began, which lasted until 1588, although there is an inscription on the cover that dates it to 1563. You can see a copy of the altarpiece of San Pedro that in 1516 Joan Gascó had painted.
