A very challenging hike. I use a walker and gave up after just 500 meters. My husband did the hike; he's a very experienced runner, but this hike, with its steep climbs and especially steep descents, isn't easy. The surroundings are beautiful!

Sanctuary of Santa María Magdalena in Novelda: Built between 1918 and 1946 on the site of an old medieval hermitage by the Novelda-born engineer José Sala Sala, who drew inspiration from the Catalan Modernism of Antoni Gaudí. The project was financed through various cultural initiatives, notably operatic galas featuring artists such as the baritone Eduardo Mateo-Quirant and the soprano Josefina Landete. It is located on La Mola hill, about 3 km from the center of Novelda, next to La Mola Castle and the former Dominican convent (now a hostel and restaurant).
