Nympsfield Long Barrow is a couple of hundred yards from the viewpoint and is worth taking in. The view from Coaley Peak south to the Dursley Hills and the Tyndale Monument is excellent.

April 5, 2025, Duck Pond

Stunning Duck Pond in the equally beautiful (and very sleepy) village of Alderton. The ducks have nesting boxes & are free to come & go as they please. You can't go "in." As such, there's a fence around the pond & nest boxes, but it was lush to watch the array of ducks for a while!!

Lovely cafe serving excellent coffee, cakes and sausage rolls

The Barn is a really nice little cafe with a great vibe about it. There's seating inside about 8 or so along the window and a few tables. The wood fire makes for a cozy feel. There are several tables outside on a nice day. The cafe serves coffee and soft drinks, cakes and a few savouries like bacon sandwiches and sausage rolls.
