From south to north (luckily with the wind at my back) this stretch close to the promontory that leads to the city of Terracina is spectacular.

Hidden by vegetation is this ancient Roman tomb. Some attribute it to the emperor Sergio Galba and others to Sesto Giulio Frantino who owned a sumptuous villa nearby. It can always be visited via the nearby road, it is located right next to a house

It was the ancient eastern gate of access to the Emilian forum. It overlooked the Appian Way which is still visible today.

The cutting of the mountain is due to the construction work of the Appia Traianea, the variant of the original stretch of the Appia, which allowed people to avoid passing through the historic center of Terracina, shortening the route by a few kilometers and avoiding a lot of climbing.

The upper part of Terracina is an open-air museum. You can admire the Emilian forum with its original Roman flooring, the recently restored Roman theater, the Capitolium, a section of the Appian Way. Furthermore, from the terrace of the town hall, you can admire the panorama below, from San Felice Circeo to the islands of Zannone, Ponza and Palmarola.
