It was really good here. The spot on the terrace is beautiful under old trees with a view of the old monastery. We slept well, ate well, and had a great breakfast with provisions that were offered at breakfast. The staff is very friendly. We felt completely at home.

The old Engelkensbrug is a charming bicycle and pedestrian bridge that has connected the landscape between Veele and Wessinghuizen since 1924. Once the only passage over the water, the original bridge is still there, right next to the wider bridge from 1957, and is loved by photographers because of its rural location and nostalgic appearance.

Between the old fortress walls of Bourtange you can not only admire and buy beautifully handmade candles, but on Sundays you can also get creative yourself. Nice for gifts.
