In the middle of nowhere, The Cochise Trail takes you along all kinds of amazing rock formations and is also a part of the Sky Islands Traverse. The trail is very popular with visitors of Cochise Stronghold Campground and you will most likely encounter day hikers. The trail is also suitable for mountain biking but be prepared to do some hike-a-bikes.

This is one of many great viewing points on this road. There's a small parking area and a short trail just off the main road, which makes this a great stopping point for a break.

This small visitor center is the perfect start to your Cave Creek/Trans Mountain Road MTB adventure. The visitor center is situated in a historic ranger cabin built in the early 1900s after Coronado National Forest was created. There are helpful volunteers available to showcase different types of exhibits. Books, maps, souvenirs, and other items are available for purchase.
