For large or heavy bicycles, the lift is the best way to get into the bicycle tunnel.

Highly recommended, the architecture, wooden escalators and the experience of cycling through the tunnel with everyone who uses this connection more than makes up for the lack of a view that you would have from one of the bridges.

The town hall, the Nieuwe Kerk and the statue of Hugo de Groot are striking here. Nice open square, but not really cozy .... It is too open for that.

The SS Rotterdam is a former passenger ship built in the 1950s for the Holland-America Line (HAL). Launched in 1959, the ship was one of the largest and most luxurious ocean liners of its time. The SS Rotterdam primarily sailed on transatlantic routes between Europe and North America. The ship had an impressive size of approximately 231 meters and could accommodate over 1,400 passengers. The interior was designed in an elegant style, with great attention to detail and luxurious amenities, including restaurants, lounges, swimming pools and a theater. After its active service as a passenger ship, the SS Rotterdam was decommissioned in 2000. In 2008, the ship was restored and converted into a hotel and museum, which is now located in the port of Rotterdam. Visitors can explore the ship, learn more about the history of seafaring and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this iconic vessel. The SS Rotterdam is an important symbol of the maritime history of the Netherlands and attracts many tourists every year.
