March 28, 2026, Lower McAlpine Creek Greenway Boardwalk

The Lower McAlpine Creek Greenway Boardwalk is an incredibly beautiful part of a new extension along with a new trailhead parking lot at Hwy 51 that opened in early 2026. The boardwalk extends Lower McAlpine beyond the existing connection to McAlpine Creek Greenway (at Johnston Road) to NC-51/Pineville-Matthews Road. The boardwalk is .5 miles long.

First visit to Banh Mi Brothers and I’m already hooked! Their bánh mì sandwiches are packed with flavor—fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. What made the experience even better was the incredibly friendly service; the team made us feel right at home. If you’re craving a spot that blends authentic taste with genuine hospitality, this is a must-try. 🌟🥖🥒

The Campbell Creek Greenway, now fully paved, seamlessly links with the McAlpine Creek Greenway and ends at Lockmont Drive. This trail runs alongside the serene Campbell Creek, offering a picturesque setting complemented by the calming sounds of its flowing waters. Together, the Campbell Creek Greenway and the mixed paved-and-gravel McAlpine Creek Greenway form a continuous 6.2-mile path stretching from Lockmont Drive to Providence Road (NC-16).

This is an awesome local bike shop with great staff that are always super happy to chat and help out. They do repairs, servicing, new bikes, and any parts you could want. The store is right next to the Little Sugar Creek Greenway.

January 23, 2025, Marsh Park

This quaint little park along the greenway features an observation platform over the marshes and the sculpture STEM by John Grade. STEM was inspired by the movement of water through plant stems, and encourages the viewer to look at familiar nature from a different perspective. There is ample street parking by the greenway.
