This former railway station, built in 1924, testifies to the major role of the railway in local development, when the line to Mont-Laurier transformed the small community into an important railway depot.

Reststop in old train station in Rivière-Rouge along the P'tit Train du Nord. As of August 2024, most facilities (toilet, drinking water fountain) were out of order, perhaps due to the major damage to the trail in the area. There are several trail closures and detours in effect due to flooding having destroyed sections of the trail. Hopefully will be back in operation soon.

There is a restaurant in the old train station and depanneurs and restaurants nearby in Labelle. Covered picnic tabels and such nearby might be great for an overnight if needed.
