The castle-like manor house is considered one of the main works of baroque estate architecture in Holstein. The origin of the estate is a medieval moated castle. The actual Güldenstein estate was probably founded in the first half of the 16th century. In 1779, the estate passed to the Rantzau family, who were followed in 1839 by the Grand Dukes of Oldenburg, whose Principality of Lübeck, located in Schleswig-Holstein, formed an exclave of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg.

Friederikenhof was a farmstead for a long time, meaning it was not managed and farmed by the main Weissenhaus estate. Ernst Franz Graf von Platen Hallermund, the son of the purchaser of Weissenhaus, founded Friederikenhof in 1789 and named the farm after his wife Friederike, née Freiin von Münster. Today, you can take riding holidays at the farm. The farm is axially symmetrical, meaning that the manor house, built in 1789, has two large outbuildings attached to it. This farm complex is typical of East Holstein. A beautiful complex worth visiting; you don't have to stop at the gate.
