George Lucas, the filmmaker of Star Wars, was born and raised in Modesto, California. The George Lucas Plaza features statues of American Graffiti -- another movie of his. Modesto is one of few populated center in California central valley, which is otherwise nowhere but endless farmland and maze of irrigation system that makes the farming possible. It reminded me of moisture farm in Tatooine, where Luke Skywalker was adapted and raised.

This road has limited traffic, perfect for a great ride through endless little hills surrounded by open fields. It runs through the small town of Warnerville, comprised of only a few farmhouses and railroad tracks, once a film set location for the movie โ€œHigh Noonโ€ in 1956.

This classic 1950s American restaurant is a small gem and a lovely place to stop and grab a bite to eat when you're passing through. It is one of the few dining options available in the Stanislaus River Valley and offers an outside dining area surrounded by pastoral views, horses, and llamas.

A stop described as being "in the middle of nowhere, the Junction Bar & Grill is a great place to grab a bite. With photos of friends and family from the area decorating the wall, stop in here for a classic burger or other American food and a drink. It's a small establishment with a parking lot, a restroom, and a few courtyards outside.
