The Exposition Park Rose Garden is a historic 7-acre sunken garden in Los Angeles. Known as "one of the city's best-kept secrets," the garden is celebrated for its vast collection of over 20,000 rose bushes. Originally part of the city's Agricultural Park, the garden was established in 1927 and features four marble statues by Thyra Boldsen, a central fountain, and several gazebos. The garden, which was once threatened by development plans, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 to ensure its preservation. It also is a popular filming location and attraction adjacent to the University of Southern California, the Natural History Museum, and the California Science Center.

Highly recommend cycling around LA. It's hard to believe, but the city is more bike-friendly than some cities in Germany. Riding in the footsteps of the Terminator along the LA River in particular is a lot of fun and there is also very little traffic :-)

The section north-west of here is blessed with the paved Rio hondo bikeway on both sides of the river channel. One bridge at each end of the parallel section helps connect to the other side to continue riding along the river. To the south this is the East bank, to the North-East it is on the North-West bank of the river. If you pass the bridge into the dead-end section you will notice it thanks to the homeless encampment getting denser and eventually closing off the trail ...

Strategic connection between these two long distance bikeways: Follow the ramps up from either bike trail to get on the bridge at the confluence of the Rio Hondo and the Los Angeles River. Both rivers are canalized and have excellent dedicated bike trails that form the best, safest bike routes without car traffic.

The California Science Center is absolutely worth seeing, but you should take several hours to see it. The space department and the space shuttle alone are worth the visit. In principle, you do not pay admission; However, you can make a donation. To see the space shuttle, simply buy a ticket for 3 euros to the left of the entrance (an absolute MUST!). Very informative exhibition that is fun, our highlight is the Endeavor, seeing a space shuttle up close is breathtaking ... plus a lot of information about the space shuttles and their missions, a small area with merchandise attached - at very reasonable prices ( Nasa shirt for example for 17 dollars) also an experience for children. The exhibitions are also very imaginative and worth seeing.
