Chief Mountain Trailhead

Highlight • Trail

The trailhead is right at the lifts for Echo Mountain. There is a wide shoulder on the westbound side of the road from where you can see the ski lifts. Walking back towards to the beginning of the parking area, you will find the trailhead going up the mountain as it does a couple quick switchbacks and then navigates through the trees.

Peaks to Plains Trail

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

The current eastern endpoint of the trail is much further down the canyon. But komoot does not allow me to create a highlight for the entire sectiion that is open as of Nov 25, The endpoints of the currently existing part of the trail are difficult to get to on a bike, but the trail itself is great, and once finished it'll be much greater

There is a wide dirt road to the summit as well as a small network of singletrack trails. The flagpole marks the peak, which is all around quite accessible. The tree cover is less to the southwest and you get great views of the mountains.

Peaks to Plains Trail is a fairly new concrete multi-use path. The entire way is very scenic as you follow Clear Creek deep into the canyon. There are places to stop and view the canyon along the way, or even head down to the shore and take a dip into the clean water.
