In my opinion, Templin and this hike, apart from a few short stretches along the road, especially on the Fährkrug side, are a feast for the eyes and highly recommended. Templin's city wall has a total length of 1.7 kilometers. Measured by area, Templin is the largest city in the Uckermark district of the state of Brandenburg. Despite its population of only around 16,000, it is the eighth-largest city in Germany. Former Chancellor Angela Merkel spent her early years of school at the Goethe Elementary School (see also picture).

A passable place to swim. After a long stretch on the dull path along the shore, you finally get a view of the lake. The hut itself is rather dingy.

charming, simple...scenic...I found this idyllic campsite touching: tent with a view of the ferry lake (and even partially covered seating; ideal for cyclists)

View from the Templiner Stadtsee to the teahouse of the former high school. During the GDR era, this was the institute for teacher training.
