Those areas of the hilly Uckermark with open views and little forest (at most small islands) are particularly scenic. You can sometimes see tens of kilometers into the distance and find a suitable vantage point quite quickly.

The lake is great and very clean, ideal for swimming. This beautiful spot with plenty of space for sunbathing and a few benches can also be easily reached by car, but it is along a bad stretch of road with nasty cobblestones. You won't find peace here. - The water quality is even checked at this "official" swimming spot.

Anyone who makes the effort to get to the vineyard will have great views everywhere. The gradient is particularly steep towards the back and you can see a particularly attractive hilly and wooded landscape, in which the Behrendsee is embedded. - Be careful: the "paths" are often just paths, barely recognizable and not signposted. Unfortunately, the best access to the mountain is also not really recognizable (no indication, no sign).

We are at the top of the vineyard, but unfortunately it is unclear where exactly the excavations took place (most recently in 2020). There is no information about this on site! Nevertheless, it is very interesting to get an impression for yourself. After all, the high vineyard offers great views of the Uckermark's top landscape. The last skeleton discovery at the vineyard was only in 2020, the first in 1962. According to all available information, the site is the oldest burial ground in all of Germany. Scientific dating showed an age between approx. 6400 BC and approx. 5000 BC. This Mesolithic burial site with a total of 12 people discovered was therefore used over an astonishingly long period of time. Anthropological comparisons also provided new insights into the cultural transition from the Mesolithic to the Neolithic, which was already characterized by agriculture and livestock farming. In contrast, people previously were mostly not sedentary.
