The North Shore Bike Path is good, however a lot of construction going on between the Lake Bluff Metra Station and North Skokie Highway makes it a bit difficult, however once past the North Skokie Highway, the asphalted surface is smooth and in good condition with trees giving a decent amount of shade on hot summer days. The only real problem is the crossings and the lights. It takes forever to cross over streets where there are stoplights. At the beginning of this trail in Lake Bluff there is a Metra Station for easy access to Chicago Union Station and as well as a Metra Station in Mundelein giving Metra Access back to Chicago Union Station, or to Antioch,IL.
