You can also walk around the church easily. Especially on hot summer days, it is pleasantly cool in the churchyard in the shade of the church or the old trees. Next to the war memorial (memorial for the fallen of both World Wars) there is a nice resting place to pause.

The evangelic church with its towering, pointed spire is a landmark of Lahde visible from afar. It stands in the historic village center on a hill opposite the Meyerhöfe and above the nearby Klostermühle (wind and water mill). The current neo-Gothic brick hall church, built in 1894/95 (architect: Johannes August Kersten, 1854-1914), replaced the dilapidated medieval predecessor church, which was already mentioned in 1206. In the narthex, there is a 12th-century tympanum relief from the old church, and in the high, bright interior with a cross-ribbed vault, a wooden carved pulpit over 450 years old. Otherwise, the complete interior furnishings from 1895 still exist, including the organ from 1894 (built by Furtwängler & Hammer). The church is rarely open outside of service times.
