Büren an der Aare Castle is the most significant Bernese castle construction from the first half of the 17th century. Built from 1621-1624, it is considered one of the most beautiful bailiff's seats far and wide. In 2003, the building was restored. The eight empty picture fields under the two rows of windows were adorned with paintings by the artist Mercurius Weissenstein in 2006, which have restored balance and harmony to the facade. Today, the castle houses the music school of the Lengnau-Büren region and the police station. Source: Municipality of Büren an der Aare.
