Originally it was a few meters higher, but in 1953 the tower was shortened from 32m to just 19m during extensive renovation work. It is quiet here. Peaceful. The sea sparkles through the trees of Nørreskov, which extends right to the beach, and - the closer you get to Taksensand Fyr - here and there you can see the brilliant white of the lighthouse. A great sight. Again and again. Then, when you arrive at the beach, you see the lighthouse standing on the mighty granite base. Defying all adversities and the forces of nature.
