Long Pond is so name because its width of 1 mile is much smaller than its 4 mile length. It's a popular location for all sorts of water sports, especially fishing. Public access is available on the south shore and there is a boat launch charging $10 for parking.

The views across to Eel Pond from Goodspeed Island are lovely with plenty of wildlife to spot around the pond. The road here is a dead end for traffic, meaning it is very quiet and great to cycle on.
