Middle Reservoir Dike is an embankment dam located that was constructed to impound water in the city’s Middle Reservoir and help supply Greater Boston's water system. There is a trail that takes you over the top of the dike and through the center of Middle Reservoir and South Reservoir.

The track is part of a larger park that spans over 100 acres, gifted to the cities long ago to be a public park forever. While the track is open to the public for general use, it's also a busy place for local high school track teams, especially in the spring.

The path gets its name from Hemlock Pool, a quiet water body within the Fells. The trail itself is often described as part of a network of paths that wind through the woods. While it might be a shorter path on its own, it connects to longer trails like the Rock Circuit Trail, which can be quite rocky and challenging.
