Going to lump a lot of things together here as one highlight. There is a pioneer cabin, a historic mill site, lots of historical placks. Plus a bunch of ice cream, chocolate, and candy stores. A hopping bar and grill with a big patio in the back, which I didn't realize from the main street side. Neat place, first time I have stopped for a few minutes here. Usually I'm trying to get to one of the parks north of here.

Square Lake Park is part of the Washington County park system, so you need a parking pass if you are driving here. The lake is clear and deep in the center. It's used for dive training. It's also a great lake for paddleboarding. It was on my list of things to do today, but I was worried it might be too windy. Didn't look like it when I got there.

The museum building itself was not open today on a Sunday late afternoon and the cabin is being renovated so you can't get near it. But it was still nice to walk around the grounds and read the signs about all the historic buildings that are here.

Park with picnic tables, grills, and a shelter with no tables. There's a building for permanent toilets but it looks to have been locked for some time; there were portable chemical toilets there instead. Some nice shade from trees by the picnic tables.

After breakfast in the park, we noticed one of the helmets had a problem that was not fixable; thankfully this shop was nearby, and open ahead of their published hours.

A lovely place for a break. Contains a number of picnic tables, sheltered and unsheltered, restrooms, beach and a playground area for kids. If you're hungry and didn't bring food, there are several restaurants opposite of the park and a couple of ice cream shops.
