The 'Stone without a name' was originally 3.15 meters high, cm wide and cm thick. This makes it one of the largest man-made spindle-shaped menhirs in Germany. The stone is made of calcified pebble conglomerate, which probably comes from the sand pits south of Eckelsheim. Presumably, the menhir dates from prehistoric times, possibly from the Neolithic period. The Gumbsheim menhir was discovered in the spring of 1927 in the present-day 'Langewanner Graben', after which it was moved several times. During land consolidation, it was given a new location at the Armsheimer Brücke in 1952. In 2002, it was damaged and broken during construction work. After being damaged again in 2004, the tip was moved to its current location in the Gewann 'Böckelheimer Brücke' (extension of Friedhofsstraße outside Gumbsheim). The broken lower part was recovered in 2012 and placed next to the menhir. The menhir has been a listed monument since 1992.

It is a 1.6 km circular trail between Bell Church and the gravel pit. Numerous panels provide information about the geological development of the former coastal region, when the Mainz Basin was flooded by a subtropical sea 30 million years ago. This area was the coastline. A surf cliff was excavated above the trail, but after the research was completed, it was filled in again to preserve it for posterity. The Beach Path of the Senses and the three coastal paths are definitely worth a visit.
