The facilities were very nice. Picnic tables to have a snack at and a fountain to fill bottles. I usually balk at paying entrance fees to visit nature but the facility is really worth it. The raptor center was worth the price of admission.

We saw turkey near here and the noise from the frogs was deafening! There must have been hundreds but we never saw a single one!

Many trails in and around Bellevue are dog-friendly, but dogs must be kept on a leash. Parks like Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park and Coal Creek Natural Area welcome leashed dogs. Always check the specific regulations for the park you plan to visit before you go, as rules can vary.
Yes, you can find waterfalls on several local trails. Within the city, the trails in Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park can lead you to the lovely Coal Creek Falls. For more dramatic scenery, a short drive will take you to trailheads for hikes like Twin Falls, which features impressive waterfalls along the Snoqualmie River.
Hiking is possible year-round, but the best time is typically from late spring through early fall (May to October) when the weather is drier and the trails are in prime condition. The weather can change quickly, so layering is key. Start with a moisture-wicking base layer, add an insulating layer like a fleece, and always bring a waterproof and windproof outer jacket. Sturdy, waterproof hiking boots with good traction are essential. Even on a sunny day, it's wise to pack for rain.
