White Lake fluctuates between full and empty rather regularly. No matter its current status the area is still a good spot for a ride, as the roads are not too busy and the shoulders are wide. Sunset is a good time to go but you'll want to finish before it get fully dark, or have your lights fully charged, since there isn't a lot of lighting aside from the stars.
