Totally fine on a road bike. Traveling westbound, the first stretch of the path is straight and fast, and the back half wi as it's way through sparse woods. Very nice respite from car traffic.

Mantoloking Beach is known for its wider beach, clean sands, and being surrounded by mansions. The beach needed a lot of restoration after Hurricane Sandy in 2012 but today is a wonderful spot to enjoy the New Jersey Shore.

Bay Head is a great spot to watch (or partake) in some surfing! This beach has a right and left break with a sandy bottom and is highly rated for beginners as well as experienced surfers.

Etra Lake is a nice, calm lake that was formed by a dam across Rocky Brook. There is a great path that runs along the bank, so you are able to get a good view while out walking the trail.
