The Las Vacas Trail is a well-traveled trail following the Rio de las Vacas. The name is appropriate because there is a good chance of seeing cattle roaming here or wild elk. Either way, stay clear of the large animals as they graze in the meadows, and keep an ear open for the elk's beguiling call, as it is a unique sound.

The village of Cuba which is located in the County of Sandoval located on both sides of the main road, is a welcome stopover after yesterday's day spent in the countryside. Here you can replenish your food and water stocks, and consult the internet. The Shell service station has a McDonalds, where you will have the network and electrical outlets available to charge your GPS bike and phone. Gas stations in the United States always have food shelves like a small supermarket. They turn out to be very practical when long distances have to be traveled between two cities.
