This structure shows the historic stonemason's house in Himmelpforten, a two-story building with a characteristic red brick facade design. This building has an L-shaped floor plan and consists of two wings built in the 19th century. It is reported that the old building, originally used as an administrative building and later as a residence, is now subject to renovation plans. A great cycling and hiking route runs along the building here in Himmelpforten.

A great bike and hiking trail leads here. The path along the railway is highly recommended. There are two options in the immediate vicinity: One route leads to the Milchstraße with the Milchstelle. Or to the bridge over the Horsterbeck. There is a rest bench with a view of the Horsterbeck and information boards.

The Protestant half-timbered church of St. Marien is located in Großenwörden (Oste) in the district of Stade, Lower Saxony, directly on the main road. Since 1972, it has been a branch church of the Protestant Lutheran parish of Horst in Burweg/Großenwörden in the Stade church district. Highly recommended. A great cycling and hiking route runs along here.

Near the current church, in the district "In der Helle", a chapel is said to have stood as early as the Middle Ages. Even this one was dedicated to Mary. It is said to have contained a carved altarpiece on which Mary was depicted with the Christ Child, standing on a skull and the crescent moon. At that time, the provost of Himmelpforten had the right to elect the chaplain of the church after he had bought this right from the cathedral provost in Bremen.

An open church in the east, right in the center of the village. Beautiful to see from the inside, don't just drive by. A visit is worthwhile.

The ferry is not a ship, but a vehicle that moves across a body of water by hanging from a fixed support. According to the support association, there are eight such transporter bridges worldwide. In Germany, another one usually operates in Rendsburg over the Kiel Canal. However, due to a technical defect, it has been out of service until at least the end of July, according to the operator. Further such structures exist, according to the World Federation of Transporter Bridges, in Argentina, France, Great Britain, and Spain.

Ferry bridge: There are only a few ferry bridges worldwide. There used to be 20, today there are only eight left. Which are still in operation as a means of transport. Germany's oldest is located on the Oste in the Samtgemeinde Hemmoor. The Förderverein Hemmoor, founded in 1975 and now with approx. 250 members, takes care of its operation and preservation.
