The Pennypack Trail extends from Huntington Valley in Montgomery County to the Delaware River in Philadelphia, and follows Pennypack Creek's wooded banks. This section of trail runs from Lorimer Park to Rockledge Park. Although the trail is gravel, it is doable on a road bike, but you might be more comfortable on a dedicated gravel bike, or at least a road bike that can take slightly wider tires.

The Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve is just off of Maple Road, one of the main roads in Ambler. This is a fantastic place to look for birds for the lake is actually fenced off so that they (and other animals) can live in peace, uninterrupted by people. This means that you sometimes might see birds that you don't typically see in a suburban area like Ambler. Although it can be a little hard to see over the fencing, there are gaps and viewpoints with platforms available for you to better be able to see the birds.

This bridge connects the West Valley Green side of the park to the Mill Rd picnic area. There are trails at both ends of the bridge that lead down to the creek and a nature trail through the woods at creek level. The nature trail is for hikers only, so walk your bike if you decide to explore below the bridge.

Several roads transect the historic Erdenheim Farm. This privately owned, working farm spans 450 acres in Springfield and Whitemarsh townships, and is separated into five tracts. The Equestrian Tract and Sheep Tract are my favorites, with good views of the livestock and farm buildings from the street. Note that the farm is private property, so please enjoy, the view from the side of the road. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erdenheim_Farm
