Maglić Peak

Highlight • Summit

There are several routes to the summit. One comes from Prijevor and is quite steep and not so safe. You can also get to the summit from Montenegro. The route is not so strenuous there. Of course you can do both routes - there and back, as in my case.
The view from Maglić is very beautiful. There are also quite a few people on the way.

Very beautiful narrow winding old town. 🤩
Unfortunately, it's the same here as in Venice, because from 11 a.m. one busload of tourists after the other is smuggled through here. The bridge is only fully occupied with people to photograph.

The Sacred Heart Cathedral (Bosnian Katedrala Srca Isusova) is a Roman Catholic episcopal church in the Stari Grad district of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo. The Sacred Heart Cathedral is a neo-Gothic basilica with a semicircular choir in the north and a double-towered portal facade with a rose window in the south. The furnishings with white marble sculptures and stained glass windows full of figures have largely been preserved in their original form.

The Sacred Heart Cathedral was built from 1884 to 1889 according to plans by the Croatian architect Josip Vancaš for the newly founded Archdiocese of Sarajevo.

A comprehensive restoration of the cathedral, made possible through the efforts of Aachen pastor Heribert August, was completed in 2013.

Sarajevo City Hall (Vijećnica)

Highlight • Monument

The first design was made in 1891 by the Czech architect Karel Pařík, but after criticism from the governor Benjámin Kállay, he ended the project. The building was then built as a town hall in 1892-1894 according to plans by the Austrian architect Alexander Wittek. It is considered to be one of the most important examples of the so-called pseudo-Moorish style. The Austro-Hungarian Archduke and heir to the throne Franz Ferdinand visited the Sarajevo City Hall on June 28, 1914 between the first attempted assassination attempt, which failed, and the second, fatal assassination attempt. The building has been used as a national and university library since 1947.

Štrbački Buk Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

Štrbački Buk is an amazingly beautiful place with a magnificent waterfall. The Una National Park is located almost directly on the Croatian - Bosnian border, about 25 km south of Bihac.
He is very tall, but you can ride him perfectly on a mountain bike.
We ourselves have opted for the entrance 1 and are driven from there for about 14 km to the waterfall ... the track itself is a gravel road ... approx. 230 m altitude ... but felt for 700 m on the other side back down to the Una.
For the onward journey either back or a longer tour z.Bsp. until you reach entrance 3 south. We ourselves are up to the entrance 2 over the mountains high ... up to the top is only sliding vorran..daf waiting for a nice S 2 Trail on eroded gravel and stone tracks on you (our route as a screenshot in the pictures).
Tip and Comparison:
While you (only on foot) look at the Plitvice Lakes in Croatia ... it costs p.P. 50, - Euro entrance and again depending on how long you stay for the 15, - Euro parking fee ... and felt a million people .. Phew. In the Una National Park on the other hand ... p.P. 3,50 Euro entrance and parking for free !!
At the waterfall no one says what if you want to go swimming there (just go through the boardwalk at the very bottom, there is a good way to safely get into the water) ... there is everything else you need .. toilet, Drinking and eating ... definitely try the Bosnian coffee ... 🤩

Well ... got curious? then on the next vacation maybe go there and explore the magnificent landscape itself. 🤗

Markale Market Hall

Highlight • Monument

The Markale (also Gradska tržnica Markale, more rarely Tržna hala) is a market hall from the Austro-Hungarian period in Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. On March 29, 2008, the building was declared a national monument.

After the severe fire in the Sarajevo district west of the Baščaršija bazaar district in 1879, there were larger open spaces that could be redeveloped. In line with the historical Bezistan of the Baščaršija (Gazi-Husrev-Beg-Bezistan, Brusa Bezistan), a market hall was also built on today's main boulevard, which is called Ferhadija after the old Mahala, in the district which, in contrast, is characterized by Central European history. To the north, this building now borders Mula Mustafe Bašeskije Street, to the east is Gajev trg. After a horse-drawn tram station was built at Trg oslobođenja, just south-east of the current building in 1884, trade at the square soared, so efforts were made to concentrate it in one building. In particular, this should be available to the meat and vegetable traders on the surrounding streets of Franje Josip (today Zelenih beretki), Ferhadija, Ćemaluša, as well as Baščaršija streets Predimaret (today Gazi Husrev-begova) and Kujundžiluk, which made the chosen location even more attractive.
