Der Gaisweiher liegt zwischen Flossenbürg und Hildweinsreuth. In Hildweinsreuth ist der Mittelpunkt von Mitteleuropa. Vom Gaisweiher kann man auch zur Flossenbürger Burgruine sehen.

Beautifully located campsite directly on the Gaisweiher lake, open all year round. The terraced facility offers around 200 pitches. In addition to pitches for caravans and motorhomes, there is also a separate tent site, sleeping barrels, and an apartment. Particularly beautiful is the direct access to the nine-hectare natural swimming lake. For campers, a sunbathing lawn, beach volleyball, a children's playground, and a well-developed network of hiking and cycling trails are also available. Dogs are also allowed on the premises on a leash.

Rastbank is a very benevolent designation. A sitting test revealed: Exactly one husky fits on the wooden block. The beautiful carved old signposts have since been replaced by unimaginative new ones.

In Hildweinsreuth lies the geographical center of Central Europe. The current monument was erected in 1985 and marks the spot with a granite disc and a metal cone. But: There isn't one single, undisputed center of Europe. Depending on the calculation method and the borders used, various locations have been determined as the center of Europe. Only a few kilometers away, near Bad Neualbenreuth, is another historical "center of Europe". This dates back to a survey from 1865. In any case, it's a special feeling to stand in the middle of Europe once.

„Looking back at the 20th century, we can say: the first half was characterized by the human catastrophes of the two world wars and by the night of fascism, which originated in Germany, swept across almost all of Europe, and found its terrible climax in the Holocaust,“ said the long-time German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher (1927 to 2016) in a speech in Zurich on September 20, 2006. Each of the numerous war memorials / fallen soldiers’ memorials has – in addition to the task of commemorating the victims of war and tyranny – the important function of constantly warning to preserve peace.
