The Tempelbergwarte is a lookout tower on the 403 m high Tempelberg between the towns of Altenberg and Hadersfeld in the market town of St. Andrä-Wördern in Lower Austria. I visited this mountain as part of my Dwarf Mountain Tour series. My goal is to climb every mountain in the Vienna Woods. Probably one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Vienna Woods, it is definitely worth the detour from the Vienna Woods long-distance hiking trail 404.

I was last here on January 2, 2020, nothing has changed since then, not even the unnecessary and easily overlooked 😉 driving bans. That's why I was there today - if you want to believe me - by helicopter 😅

04/15/2022 - Soon you will reach the Kia-Beri-Kreuz on the Tetzenberg. The Kia-Beri, meaning Cow Mountain, is not called that for nothing. Here is a fenced pasture for the cattle of an organic dairy farm. From there you can see far beyond the vineyards - to the skyline of Donau-City in the 22nd district and on a clear day even to the Schneeberg. I can only agree with this PLEASE! Please do not enter the cattle pasture, because it is private property. The "Kiaberikreiz" can also be viewed very well from outside the electric fence. Our cattle are not used to strangers. It can also be dangerous for hikers and cattle if hikers enter it.

From the Kreuttal Observation Tower on Glockenberg, you can see far across the Weinviertel and Marchfeld. The Kia-Beri Cross on Tetzenberg offers views over vineyards, and on clear days, you might even spot the Vienna skyline and the distant Schneeberg mountain.

It has been a popular pilgrimage destination since at least the 9th century, with archaeological finds attracting cultural and historical enthusiasts. It's also a highlight along the Jakobsweg Weinviertel.

The Kreuttal Observation Tower is a 21-meter high wooden tower located on the Glockenberg. Built in 1985, it features two viewing platforms accessible via 75 steps. On clear days, it provides extensive views across the Weinviertel and Marchfeld, making it an excellent spot for photography and appreciating the landscape.
The Kia-Beri Cross is situated on the Tetzenberg, which translates to 'Cow Mountain' due to its use as a fenced pasture for an organic dairy farm's cattle. From the cross, you can enjoy expansive views over the vineyards. It's important to view the cross and scenery from outside the cattle pasture fence, as entering private property is not permitted and can be dangerous for both hikers and cattle.
