July 20, 2023, Lower Blue Lake

Lower Blue Lake sits at almost 11,000 ft of elevation and is the largest of the three lakes. If you are continuing higher, it is a bit of a detour to go to the banks of the lake, but well worth it. From the western shore you get an amazing view of Mt. Sneffels towering above.

Upper Blue Lake is a high alpine lake that sits at 11,720 ft and is just below the 14,158 ft Mt. Sneffels. The views from this basin are pretty stunning.
