The Stone Table is an atmospheric spot in the forest between Schwabbach and Eberstadt, near the L1036. Presumably once a courthouse, it is now considered a cultural monument. 🌳 Surrounded by forest and vineyards, it is a popular starting point for hikes – quietly located, with a small forest playground nearby.

A very controversial project, very expensive. The cycle path was already well developed at that point, and then there are the costly construction measures for the Frießinger Mill and the two planned bridges, at the marina and the dam. The new surface is certainly a dream, but it won't last forever. The slightly wider expansion offers more space for busy traffic, but it has also resulted in the loss of nature. The bridges will be great and make cycling to the footbridge easier, and the bottleneck will be eliminated. However, the bridge maintenance costs will be enormous in one to two decades, and the connecting path will consume even more nature. In my opinion, there are towns that are poorly connected to the cycle network, or not at all, than Wimpfen to Heilbronn; it would have made more sense to invest here.

A nice way to cool down in the summer.

This is the steepest climb in this forest, and it's gravel. At the steepest point, it goes straight ahead, so it looks like a wall you're driving toward. It's best to ride in the middle.
