Saint Trinity Church (Sveta Trojica) Summit

Highlight • Summit

Absolute dream view from the summit. However, you have to earn the look. Depending on the route from demanding to hard. The ground is mostly good to ride, but the incline varies. Feasible with MTB translation, quite exciting with Gravel. Please leave the place clean, there is a large garbage can behind the church! No water point, so bring enough with you.

Camp Plana

Highlight • Rest Area

The wooden hut serves as the reception of the campsite and is also a bar/restaurant. The food is very good and consists of large portions, the current dishes can be found on the menu at the entrance. The staff is very friendly and can help in several languages. Overall a very good place to stop. A children's playground and a volleyball court are right next to the terrace. Horses can be seen at the back of the campsite.

Lynx Trail seasonal lakes

Highlight • Lake

Stuck in front of a lake? These are seasonal lakes. So sometimes you might not even suspect there has ever been water, sometimes you will have to take the small grass path back up the path a few meters. Take a picture and upload it to this Highlight and on Instagram with the Hashtag #lynxtraillakes. What do you see here? What did others see?

St. Urban Church on Vremščica

Highlight • Religious Site

Vremščica, a mountain ridge rising to 1,027 m, is one of three peaks on the Karst plateau that exceed 1,000 m, yet this one is completely different. The peak is accessible from several directions. Vremščica enthrals bikers with its vast and relatively gently-sloping meadows that are in bloom in summer and give pasture to many flocks of sheep. The peak gives amazing views of all four points of the compass – the Adriatic Sea, the Dolomites and the Julian Alps, as well as Brkini and Čičarija. Bikers may rest a while near the renovated St. Urban Church and return to the starting point, across the meadows that are a treasure chest of karst biodiversity.

Petelinje Intermittent Lake

Highlight • Lake

A short detour near Slovenska Vas leads to one of the peculiarities of the Slovenian Karst: a lake that sometimes exists, and sometimes leaves room for a green plain.

A beautiful place! It is definitely worth the detour. The track is extremely smooth and these landscapes are not common in Slovenia. After 700km in the country, this is the first time we have been able to admire these views
