Mussolini Tunnel (Podtabor Tunnel)

Highlight • Structure

A macadam path winds above Podtabor at the foot of the wall. This leads through a 72-meter-long tunnel carved into the living rock all the way to Šilentabor and Ratečev Brdo. Some also call it the Mussolini Tunnel, as it was built by the Italians during the war to connect important military facilities and points. From here there is the most beautiful view of the wall, which at its highest point measures 70 meters. In the wall, in the natural hole, there is the already mentioned castle, and the other holes and cavities are the nesting grounds of crows.

Sušec Waterfall

Highlight • Waterfall

After a plentiful rainfall, the waterfall shows in all its glory, but it dries up in just a few days when the rain stops.
Since it is dry most of the time, the waterfall has the name "Sušec" (comes from the Slovenian word "suša", meaning drought / drought).
Recordings can be found on YouTube, Ilirska Bistrica - slap Sušec.
